Adventure of the Seas Recent Drydock - Still No Vintages

I'm currently enjoying the new ship-wide wifi on the Adventure of the Seas that was added during the dry dock in April 2014. I thought I'd post real quick to summarize what was and wasn't completed during the dry dock in April, because there's little information available online about this particular ship. The lists you can find online say that in the April 2014 dry dock, the Adventure of the Seas was scheduled to receive:

  • Outdoor movie screen
  • Updated Vintages wine bar
  • Park Café
  • Chef’s Table
  • Giovanni’s Table
  • Digital Signage
  • Pervasive Wi-Fi
  • Flat-screen TVs
  • Interactive TVs
  • Concierge Club
  • Diamond Club
  • Nursery

I can confirm that almost everything on this list is now available, with the exception of Vintages and Chef's Table. I'm also not sure about the nursery - I didn't check on that item. I've seen every other item on board, and I'm using the wi-fi from the Viking Crown Lounge, so I can confirm the pervasive wi-fi is in place.

The lack of Vintages and Chef's Table is disappointing, and there's no official word as to why they weren't put into place during the April 2014 dry dock or if they will ever be put into place. Apparently the dry dock was rescheduled a number of times, and then was cut to about 2 weeks.

So, if you're looking for Vintages or Chef's Table - Adventure of the Seas isn't the ship for you. There's also no FlowRider - while most RCCL ships have replaced their inline skating tracks with a Flowrider, the Adventure of the Seas still has the inline skate track. However, given that the ship spends a majority of its time in Northern Europe, sailing to Iceland, Scandinavia and the Baltic with a primarily older guest in colder weather, it's not surprising that RCCL hasn't invested in adding the Flowrider to the Adventure of the Seas.

The Gravity Sports Bar, which was scheduled to be replaced by Vintages, is still there. However, other than these two missing items from the dry dock, the ship is in great condition and the crew really are going above and beyond to make sure all of the guests are comfortable and having a good time.

I'll post more from our voyage on the Adventure of the Seas soon. In the meantime, if you have any specific questions about the ship, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them or find the answer for you!
